Public Realm
Coventry, the UK's 11th largest city, has historically underperformed in retail, ranking a lowly 71st nationally. To address this challenge, a £10.7 million public realm program, part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), was implemented within the city centre.

This initiative aimed to revitalise the city center by reducing traffic speeds, decluttering the streetscape, and enhancing the public realm for pedestrians. These improvements were designed to create a more attractive and safer environment, ultimately attracting investment and boosting retail performance.
