This ambitious scheme, completed on budget at approximately £80 million, encompassed a wide range of improvements. These included the construction of a new substation, access tunnel, footbridge, and platform canopies, as well as a modern station building featuring new concourse areas and a multi-storey car park. Additionally, extensive highway works and a new transport interchange were implemented to enhance connectivity and accessibility for all users.
